Responsibilities
- Ensure the status of the MainOne access network which comprises of microwave, GPON and Carrier Ethernet Transport networks are properly supported to deliver optimal availability
- Manage, coordinate and support network performance management systems for the delivery on required network service levels. In addition, effectively implement an end-to-end fault management process nationwide.
- Work closely with the OSS team to manage MainOne access network operational spares and inventories effectively.
- Manage preventive equipment maintenance plans for the different elements that make up the MAIN ONE Access Network.
- Give and maintain adequate useful network feedback based on operational challenges to Network planning.
- Provide Field Operations support interface to the GNOC team and other stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Establish, Implement and continuously update the quality procedures and processes for the FSE team.
- Provide mentoring via formal learning and adequate provisioning of RCA across the business.
- Ensure that outages related to customer services are attended to within the communicated MTTR
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Electronics Engineering or related degree.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience, 5 years in Operation and Maintenance field , 2 or more years managing access network and/or Field Maintenance environments, preferably for a large ISP
- Technical & Professional proficiency
