What We Need



  • We are looking to hire a skilled technical support engineer to manage the efficiency of our technology and infrastructure to ensure that there is zero downtime and failures on our operating servers and networks.

  • This role will be saddled with the responsibility of monitoring and addressing critical servers and technology infrastructure issues that support the clients of our merchant services.


What You Will Do



  • Provide support for critical infrastructure and servers

  • Monitor critical servers and infrastructure of the business to achieve zero downtime and low level of production issues.

  • Provide analysis and real-time reporting on major technical incidents

  • Support incident response on critical applications, infrastructure, and servers

  • Serve as first-line technical support to the business core infrastructure and network servers

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve IT processes and systems to enhance overall efficiency.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.

  • Escalate and manage severity/priority incidents according to standards

  • Promoting own skill development while also freely skill sharing between other teammates, including client support; contributing to team knowledge base and overall process improvement

  • Working and liaising with internal stakeholders (development and engineering, client success, product, delivery)

  • Provide an in-depth level of problem determination and recovery


Requirements



  • First degree in Computer Science or any relevant field

  • 3+ years of Cognate experience in the Financial Technology or IT Infrastructure sector

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network servers and support cloud infrastructures.

  • Knowledge of relational/document-oriented databases incl. SQL

  • Familiarity with Python/Java programming is a plus

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Customer-focused mentality with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Discipline in properly following up on all customer requests

  • A critical thinker and excellent interpersonal skills.
