Job Description
As the Head of IT Operations, you will directly oversee technology infrastructure and operations within Palmpay Limited. You will lead a team of IT professionals to ensure excellent functioning, IT systems & process scalability and security to enable the organization deliver fast, efficient and reliable financial services.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management in developing and executing the IT operations strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services, ensuring high availability and security.
- Team Management: Lead and manage the IT operations team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and mentoring of staff.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that all IT systems and processes adhere to industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements to protect sensitive financial and private data.
- Technology Upgrades and Innovations: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in fintech and IT operations, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate.
- System Maintenance: Establish and enforce best practices for system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
- Budgeting and Cost Optimization: Manage the IT operations budget effectively, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize IT resources to maximize efficiency.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, manage service levels, and ensure timely issue resolution
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as product development and compliance, to support business initiatives and deliver seamless IT solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 6years proven experience in IT operations management, preferably in the fintech industry.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud technologies, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
