About the Job



  • The ideal candidate will oversee the effective maintenance of the Company's accounting books and finances, as well as review and manage the Company's financial management systems and processes, financial performance and investment portfolio.


Responsibilities



  • Advice on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks

  • Control and evaluate the Company's fundraising plans and capital structure

  • Providing direction and efficient management of the finance team

  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting

  • Ensure fiscal integrity, including preparation of annual budget, procurement plans and financial statement, that accurately reflect the status of the Company

  • Lead development of a Financial Knowledge Management Framework and system for the Company.


Requirements



  • B.Sc / BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; M.Sc / MBA is an advantage.

  • Possess relevant certifications commensurate with the position not limited to ACCA, ICAN or CFA qualifications.

  • The candidate should have 10+ years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in top management/ executive position, for a major company or division of a large corporation.

  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of the global commodities exchange market.

  • Experience in soliciting, developing, servicing and structuring a wide range of financial instruments and associated techniques across asset classes.

  • Strong financial management skills, including best practice in project financing, budget preparation, financial analysis, decision making and reporting.

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office and financial management software.

  • High level strategic thinking and ability to envision, as well as convey the economic imperatives and subscribers’ benefits, of the Company.

  • Strong communication skills, emphasizing clarity and concise style of presentation.

  • Conversational level skills in either Arabic, French or Hausa languages are desirable.
