Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reading blueprints and specifications
- Monitoring operations to ensure that they meet production standards
- Recommending adjustments to the assembly or production process
- Inspecting, testing, or measuring materials or products being produced
- Measuring products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- Operating electronic inspection equipment and software
- Verify all equipment is calibrated correctly
- Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods.
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
- Assessment of finished products to accept or reject as the case may be
- Removing all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
- Reporting inspection and testing data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected
- Prepare and issue test certificates of products to customers after analysis
- Provide professional and technical assistance in line with SON guidelines to the production team and customers as required
- Conduct sampling and analysis of raw materials
- Determination of the melt flow index of raw materials
- Determination of the vicat softening temperature of our products
- Carrying out hydrostatic pressure testing on our pipes
- Pressure rating of our pipes in line with NIS and SON standards
- Conducting a range of quality tests on our product lines
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS
- BSc. In Chemical Engineering or other related fields
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the manufacturing industry
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and manuals.
- Keen attention to detail
- Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
- Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers etc
