ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reading blueprints and specifications


• Monitoring operations to ensure that they meet production standards


• Recommending adjustments to the assembly or production process


• Inspecting, testing, or measuring materials or products being produced


• Measuring products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers


• Operating electronic inspection equipment and software


• Verify all equipment is calibrated correctly


• Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods.


• Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.


• Assessment of finished products to accept or reject as the case may be


• Removing all products and materials that fail to meet specifications


• Reporting inspection and testing data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected


• Prepare and issue test certificates of products to customers after analysis


• Provide professional and technical assistance in line with SON guidelines to the production team and customers as required


• Conduct sampling and analysis of raw materials


• Determination of the melt flow index of raw materials


• Determination of the vicat softening temperature of our products


• Carrying out hydrostatic pressure testing on our pipes


• Pressure rating of our pipes in line with NIS and SON standards


• Conducting a range of quality tests on our product lines

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS

• BSc. In Chemical Engineering or other related fields


• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the manufacturing industry


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills


• Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and manuals.


• Keen attention to detail


• Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications


• Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers etc
