Job Summary:
As a Trainee Embryologist at Hope Valley Fertility Clinic, you will be an essential member of our ART laboratory team, assisting in various embryology procedures and gaining valuable hands-on experience. Under the guidance of experienced embryologists, you will learn and perform critical tasks related to embryo culture, assessment, and cryopreservation. This comprehensive training program is designed to develop your technical skills and knowledge in the field of embryology, ultimately contributing to our mission of helping patients achieve their dream of parenthood.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of embryo culture media and ensure optimal conditions for the growth and development of embryos.
- Learn and participate in the processes of conventional insemination and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) to fertilize oocytes.
- Observe and assist in the evaluation of embryo development and quality using advanced microscopy and morphological criteria.
- Learn the techniques of embryo freezing (vitrification) and participate in cryopreservation activities.
- Assist in the daily maintenance of the ART laboratory, including cleaning and organizing workspaces and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures and patient information in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Follow established quality control protocols and participate in quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Collaborate with the research team in ongoing projects and assist in data collection and analysis.
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner, providing information and support as needed.
- Actively engage in learning opportunities, workshops, and seminars to expand your knowledge and skills in embryology.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in biology, reproductive biology, embryology, or a related field is required.
- While prior experience in embryology is not mandatory, any exposure to laboratory work or research in reproductive biology will be considered a plus.
- Strong interest in reproductive medicine and a desire to work in a laboratory setting. Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and take direction from senior embryologists.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures precisely.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and patients.
- A passion for reproductive medicine and a commitment to helping individuals and couples achieve their parenthood goals.
