  • SoLo Funds is seeking an experienced Country Manager as we build our services to operate in Nigeria.

  • The Nigeria CM will partner with stakeholders across the organization to launch the SoLo marketplace in Nigeria, grow the Nigerian user base, and develop a playbook for further expansion and scale in Africa.In order to succeed in this position, you need to be highly driven, live in and have a passion for Nigeria and its fintech space, and a desire to help build our marketplace from the ground up.


What You'll Do



  • Collaborate across all SoLo’s departments to develop, launch and grow our SoLo Nigeria

  • Lead GTM planning and SoLo’s launch in Nigeria

  • Own in-market growth initiatives, including consumer marketing campaigns

  • Assess, secure and manage relationships with partners to hypercharge growth in the market alongside SoLo’s management

  • Negotiate with vendors and service providers needed for localization efforts

  • Collaborate with region specific partners to acquire all necessary resources and services

  • Collaborate with leadership to strategize how best to roll out the product line

  • Synthesize monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress

  • Network effectively with financial regulatory groups and develop strong professional relationships across financial services industry

  • Adapt the business model to be culturally relevant without losing its identity

  • Lead product marketing–including copywriting and localization for the Nigerian product

  • Collaborate on market research and be the voice of the customer internally

  • Leverage your learnings to develop a playbook for further expansion in Africa, in partnership with growth, design, product, and engineering teams

  • Develop and lead cross functional teams at the intersection of product and marketing to scale the market and drive regional growth

  • Take initiative and ownership to both drive regional strategy and implement it


You’re a Great Fit If You Have



  • Local Nigeria financial industry experience and expertise

  • A master's degree, MBA or other relevant fields, strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in management or consultancy in an international business setting

  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • The ability to thrive in high-pressure situations

  • Outstanding negotiating skills

  • Analytical planner with superior problem-solving skills

  • Solid history of data-driven strategic development

  • Significant experience in the finance and marketing fields

  • Experience building a startup, or being part of a startup creation process

  • Experience in marketplaces
