Position Summary



  • We are seeking to hire a Supermarket General Manager who will be responsible for the overall management of the supermarket, including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling supermarket operations to ensure efficient and profitable operations.

  • The General Manager will work closely with other managers and employees to create a positive and productive work environment, maintain high standards of customer service, and cleanliness, and achieve financial objectives.


Responsibilities



  • Oversee day-to-day operations, managing staff and departments, ensuring customer satisfaction, setting and achieving sales targets.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

  • Recruit, train, and manage staff, including scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain accurate records

  • Analyze financial reports to identify areas of improvement and implement cost-control measures

  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, and resolve any customer complaints or employee issues that arise


Requirements and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supermarket or retail management,with at least 10 years in a leadership role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Focus on delivering excellent customer service and enhancing the shopping experience for customers.

  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and inventory control to ensure profitability.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Familiarity with supermarket software and POS systems.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
