Job Description

• Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.


• Collaborate with other medical team members, (physicians and nurses), to conduct special procedures.


• Liaise and work with other medical and non-medical staff to ensure quality care is given to patients.


• Comply with the use of standard operating procedures and policies


• Evaluate patients’ medical condition and history to determine the most suitable radiographic diagnosis technique with the guidance/supervision of a senior radiographer or radiologist.


• Interact with patients to offer them psychological support and address their concerns regarding an imaging procedure.


• Adjust diagnostic equipment to deliver accurate amount of radiation to patients


• Operate complex medical instruments such as Xray and several other imaging devices with supervision.


• Maintain proper records of patient details ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.


• Explain to patients and their families the details of a procedure and ways to manage possible side effects.


• Regularly inspect diagnostic equipment to ensure they are functional and operate efficiently.


• Assist radiologist during complex radiological examinations.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines to minimize the risk of exposure to ionizing radiation.


• Correctly position patients prior to X-ray imaging to obtain high-quality films.


• Ensure radiology supplies are available.


• Ensure professional conduct at all times.


• Supervise visiting staff and patients in radiation work areas.


• Attend departmental and general staff meetings as required.


• Be available for weekend duties as rostered.


• Be available for duty at branch sites.


• Liaise with other departments/staff to ensure smooth workflow.


• Ensure immediate radiology/examination suites are kept clean.
