Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.
Collaborate with other medical team members, (physicians and nurses), to conduct special procedures.
Liaise and work with other medical and non-medical staff to ensure quality care is given to patients.
Comply with the use of standard operating procedures and policies
Evaluate patients’ medical condition and history to determine the most suitable radiographic diagnosis technique with the guidance/supervision of a senior radiographer or radiologist.
Interact with patients to offer them psychological support and address their concerns regarding an imaging procedure.
Adjust diagnostic equipment to deliver accurate amount of radiation to patients
Operate complex medical instruments such as Xray and several other imaging devices with supervision.
Maintain proper records of patient details ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Explain to patients and their families the details of a procedure and ways to manage possible side effects.
Regularly inspect diagnostic equipment to ensure they are functional and operate efficiently.
Assist radiologist during complex radiological examinations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines to minimize the risk of exposure to ionizing radiation.
Correctly position patients prior to X-ray imaging to obtain high-quality films.
Ensure radiology supplies are available.
Ensure professional conduct at all times.
Supervise visiting staff and patients in radiation work areas.
Attend departmental and general staff meetings as required.
Be available for weekend duties as rostered.
Be available for duty at branch sites.
Liaise with other departments/staff to ensure smooth workflow.
Ensure immediate radiology/examination suites are kept clean.
