  • We aseeking to employ an individual with original ideas, who is data literate and able to write hard news, colourful features and in-depth analysis across digital and print.media.

  • Applicants must have a deep understanding of business in general with specific interest in the property market and editing experience at a national newspaper, news organisation or trade publication


Responsibilities



  • Write engaging stories, putting people at the heart, with high-quality analysis and expertise. Attention to detail is crucial

  • Conceive and deliver exclusive stories that appeal to Castles Lifestyle and

  • Highbrow Living readers

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what works best for digital, offering content that is truly distinctive

  • Work with production colleagues in design, pictures and sub-editing to produce a weekly and monthly magazine as efficiently as possible, meeting deadlines

  • Use SEO and Google Trends to help to guide commissioning

  • Investigate property issues and associated features that would inform and appeal to Castles Lifestyle and Highbrow Living readers

  • Represent the magazines at news conferences and other trade events


Skills and experience



  • Experience editing at a national newspaper, news organisation or trade magazine

  • An ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and with rigorous accuracy

  • Ability to commission content for multiplatform digital products

  • Knowledge of how to attract and retain new audiences

  • Ability to use social media to engage existing and new audiences for Castles

  • Lifestyle and Highbrow Living

  • Persuasive presentation skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to problem-solve and negotiate positive outcomes

  • Ability to communicate succinctly and effectively

  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

  • A strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues
