Job Description


The Fleet Manager's job is to be in charge of all mechanics, drivers and trucks to the end that trucks are available for the company’s operations as at when needed.


Specific Duties



  • Managing of fleets, drivers and other related assets, including their operations, and conditions.

  • Ensuring that Fleets and drivers are fully utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner.

  • Maintaining database of logistics information, providing ongoing analysis in areas of transportation costs, procurement, usage, back orders, and delivery procedures.

  • Operational concerns, Human resource, Administrative, and finance Management.

  • Overseeing and proper managing the end-to-end lifecycle of each truck through vehicle inspection and maintenance.

  • Supervising servicing, routine maintenance and repair of fleets in compliance to company’s standard. Supervising procurement of necessary spare parts during repairs and Maintenance of vehicle licensing and registration, including insurance.

  • Ensuring drivers comply with company’s rules and regulation policy and partnering reputable repair and maintenance shops in favourable locations.

  • Tracking of fleets and Maintaining cost efficiency in compliance to the company’s maintenance budgets.

  • Documentation and keeping accurate Information on fleets, such as travel time, travel location, stop overs, travel patterns, parts procurement, and back orders, among others.

  • Maintaining a detailed travel history for, and everything pertaining to the fleet, such as looking up the date of the last oil change, for a specific truck and setting up maintenance schedules for the fleet.

  • Carrying out outsourcing and possible markets surveys as regards business development and business closure.


Qualifications



  • HND / B.Sc in Auto-Mechanic Engineering or related course from a recognized institutions of higher learning.

  • At least five years of hands-on experience as Fleet Manager in the down stream of the oil and gas sector

  • Willing to relocate to Owerri, Imo state.
