ROLE SUMMARY

• The role involves being responsible for the services and operations of GPON Technology and also involved in transmission network domain as a whole.


• It also entails management of GPON nodes and links, and participate in modelling and optimization of existing network to meet short term client requirement, having in mind the overall long term and future upgrade of the infrastructure, with minimal effect on customer services.


• Take active role in project kick-off meeting as required by PMO or any other relative unit. Close cross carpeting with Network Operations & Maintenance with details documentation of all implementation to be passed on to NOM and Network Operation Center (NOC)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform service provisioning in fulfilment of internal/external customer service requests on GPON Platform.


• Interface with extended teams on integration and resolution of GPON services interconnectivity incidences/events.Provision of operational support for all NMS platforms and nodes on the GPON network.


• Provision of Level-2 support on incident resolution with NOC and NOM.


• Active in the process of Designing, Planning & Implementation of transmission link with both GPON and DWDM/SDH Technology


• Provide advance notification to NOM and NOC on link degradation status, and recommended fix.


• Ensure the criteria of the ATP were met during and after service provisioning as stated in the SLA.


• Play role in the Planning and design of Metro and Access links.


• Produce a solution design for all transmission link provisioned.


• Ensuring the configuration files from the newly provisioned links and nodes are secured from the vendors and/or any relative stakeholders.


• Manage documentations and archives of the department.


• Carrying out any other tasks assigned

EDUCATION

• Degree in Electrical Engineering /Telecommunication/Electronic/Computer Engineering or equivalent.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Transmission network deployment (SDH & WDM).


• Experience with managing diverse team.


• Experience in other engineering principles and techniques relating to transmission network development.


• Can carry out testing using OTDR and Power meters, Splicing of FOC will be an added advantage


• Detailed knowledge of principle of carrying-out surveys on Aerial routes
