Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate project M&E activities in Nigeria (Kano, Oyo, Ogun, and Abuja) to ensure that outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality assurance standards according to agreed to annual work plans and budgets. The Project Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will report to the YAS Project Coordinator.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design performance management plans for the project and monitors the implementation processes to track milestones and report on key performance indicators and outputs.
- Develop and share M&E tools with YAS colleagues for data collection and monitoring.
- Coordinate and supervise project M&E field agents for all data collections and work closely with external backstopping consulting teams for effective M&E delivery.
- Identify, recommend, and establish digital tools and platforms for documenting, tracking, recording, and reporting project impacts.
- Facilitate the design of a project monitoring dashboard.
- Design and conduct follow-up household, community, institutional, and market surveys to assess adoption levels, pathways, constraints, and impacts at household, village, and market levels.
- Conduct surveys, publish findings, and contribute to disseminating results to stakeholders.
- Participate actively in annual project review and planning meetings.
- Conduct project end-line survey and assess the early impact of the YAS project in intervention sites.
- Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- The candidate should have a master's degree in statistics, agricultural economics, development studies, or other relevant discipline from a recognized university.
Core Competencies:
- At least ten years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation responsibility of international/national projects and demonstrated skills in team building and creation of synergies between project partners and stakeholders.
- Experience in working with a wide range of partners - local and international, development actors, farmers, and youth organizations.
- Familiarity with youth in agribusiness implementation programs in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in the use of project Impact Monitoring and Evaluation software, databases, internet-based tools, and other electronic communication tools.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
