As the Laboratory Manager, you will be a composed and organized individual responsible for overseeing seamless lab operations.
Your duties will include scheduling staff, procuring supplies, enforcing health and safety protocols, and overseeing the overall maintenance of the laboratory.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements; conduct laboratory inspections as necessary;
Review laboratory protocols of all research groups (internal and external) to understand all projects occurring within the lab and oversee the laboratory;
Track inventory and order supplies as necessary;
Schedule laboratory and equipment time for staff;
Train team members to use laboratory equipment, software, and supplies safely and efficiently;
Update the lab safety plan and safety data sheets (SDS) as necessary, schedule safety training for new hires or team members entering new roles, and enforce policies around personal protective equipment;
Work with Hardware and Software engineering teams to build and test a variety of hardware components and fully integrate systems; and
Manage cleaning and sanitising of the lab; ensure all equipment and instruments function correctly; and initiate repair or maintenance of said equipment as necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or any other related field;
A minimum of 6 months experience as a lab manager;
Excellent managerial skills;
Ability to multitask;
Knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols;
Experience working in a lab would be advantageous;
Good people skills and the ability to teach and cross-train company personnel are essential; and
Management skills, the ability to collaborate and work on a team, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
