Job Responsibilities



  • To direct or coordinate purchasing, warehousing, and distribution services or activities to limit costs and improve the accuracy of the supply chain department.

  • Manage procurement, inventory management, and logistics including setting targets and performance monitoring.

  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders (Local & International)

  • Develop materials cost forecast and standard cost list

  • Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering and Quality Assurance to identify and qualify suppliers.

  • Manage the inventory of all materials to ensure that materials are available when required and there is no stock out.

  • Produce regular reports on performance including spend analysis, savings and potential savings for forecasts and budgets.

  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.

  • Assess appropriate material storage and handling equipment needs and stacking levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.

  • Appraise vendor capabilities through both desktop and on-site appraisals.

  • Continuous monitoring of supplier performance.

  • Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials.


Job Requirement.



  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Supply Chain role at a Managerial level

  • Minimum qualification of 1ST Degree in a Supply Chain related course from a reputable institution.

  • Proficient understanding of the supply chain process.

  • Experience in using an ERP to manage supply chain processes.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work under pressure.

  • Proactive (ability to think and take initiative) and must have problem-solving skills.

  • Possession of people skills (Ability to interact effectively with people - staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and customers alike).

  • Ability to develop, build and maintain relationships with vendors•

  • Must be discernibly honest and of consistent upright character.

  • Must be ethical i.e. must follow the ideals and responsibilities of the industry as set out in the code of ethics guiding operations and operators in the industry
