Job Description



Main Function



  • To co-ordinate, support and advise the organization on all aspects with regards to staff health. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure optimal health of staff at workplace


Role Responsibilities



  • Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.

  • Develop a health surveillance plan for staff at workplace

  • Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and make referrals where needed to the physician.

  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts

  • Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders

  • Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)

  • Provide instant medical care in emergencies

  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients

  • Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc.

  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria:



  • A registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwives Council of Nigeria

  • 3 - 4 years’ experience working as a Nurse in a government accredited hospital

  • Knowledge developing and implementing an health surveillance plan

  • Good knowledge of the Health laws and regulations in Nigeria

  • Provision of advice to managers/supervisors
