Job Description:
- As the Unit Head of Enterprise Analytics within the Finance Directorate's Enterprise Data Management and Transformational Analytics (EDMTA) department, you will play a pivotal role in leading and driving the bank's data-driven culture and leveraging analytics to deliver strategic value.
- You will be responsible for providing direction and overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of various Enterprise Analytics projects and initiatives.
- Through your leadership, you will promote data as a valuable asset, demonstrate its operational and strategic significance to different Business Units, and minimize data risks.
- Your role will involve fostering innovation through data science, developing impactful data products, and supporting the bank's data-led transformation initiatives.
- You will also lead a high-performing data science and analytics team, driving their capabilities to deliver critical insights for enhanced decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide analytics frameworks, including policies, standards, guiding principles, processes, tools, and best practices.
- Lead the implementation of analytics strategies and processes across the entire data lifecycle management framework.
- Oversee and drive enterprise-wide analytics initiatives, ensuring the delivery of expected outcomes.
- Develop and execute a bank-wide change management program for Analytics initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Information Technology (IT) to clarify and communicate data-related business requirements.
- Collaborate with control units (ICEG, Ops Risk, Internal Audit), promoting analytics and data science best practices.
- Provide monthly data science capability reports illustrating progress and value creation across Business Units.
- Lead analytics capability maturity across the Bank, conducting analytics sessions with Business Units.
- Support Domain Governors and Data Governance partners in achieving data-governance objectives and resolving escalated issues.
- Manage the budget and spending for Analytics Programs.
- Provide progress reports to management and oversee updates to the Data Governance Council.
- Foster collaboration with other teams within the EDMTA department to achieve unit objectives.
- Engage with Bank management levels on Enterprise Analytics and its implications.
- Manage interrelationships across enterprise projects and optimize project and BaU portfolio performance.
- Develop and obtain approval for the training plan for the Enterprise Analytics unit.
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to colleagues to enhance productivity.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a first degree or its equivalent in a business/IT related discipline.
- Postgraduate degree in quantitative disciplines is an added advantage.
- 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise analytics capabilities.
- Proficient knowledge of data governance and quality development frameworks, concepts, and best practices.
- Proficient knowledge of structured systems analysis and design, and software development life cycle.
- Good understanding of Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical).
- Knowledge of Master Data Management and ability to anticipate typical MDM implementation challenges and provide solutions.
- Good knowledge of Business Intelligence, Analytics, Big Data, and their impact on ROI.
- Good knowledge of Reference Data Management Metadata Management and its benefits.
- Working knowledge of quality control/assurance.
