Job Description:
- As the Unit Head of Data Architecture and Engineering within the Finance Directorate's Enterprise Data Management and Transactional Analytics department, you will be a pivotal figure responsible for the development and implementation of the Data Strategy blueprint.
- Collaborating closely with the Chief Data Officer and relevant stakeholders, both internal and external to the enterprise, you will play a critical role in shaping the data infrastructure and architecture to support the organization's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and architectural solutions.
- Oversee the effective day-to-day management of resources within the unit.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders for budget preparation, execution, and ensure compliance with budget management.
- Ensure smooth execution of Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) through constant review and engagement with stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain an effective operational model, periodically reviewing and adapting it to align with present-day realities.
- Perform coding and architectural reviews to ensure the quality and robustness of solutions before release.
- Delegate responsibilities to members of the unit, promoting effective teamwork and collaboration.
- Ensure that developed solutions undergo peer review and are well-documented.
- Maintain a vigilant approach to prevent regulatory or audit exceptions associated with the team's activities.
- Validate that solutions meet the requirements outlined in the design documentation.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to direct reports, fostering their professional growth and development.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a first degree or its equivalent in a business/IT related discipline.
- Masters, MBA, or a recognized professional certification will be an added advantage.
- 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering data-related solutions.
- Proficient knowledge of software development frameworks, concepts, and best practices.
- Working knowledge of system implementation.
- Proficient knowledge of structured systems analysis and design, and software development life cycle.
- Proficient knowledge of relational database management systems and tools.
- Good knowledge of enterprise applications systems such as Finacle 10, Oracle ERP, etc.
- Proven technical aptitude in several relevant application programming domains.
- Working knowledge of quality control/assurance.
