Job Description
The successful candidate will work with the General Manager to carry out the following functions :
- To manage the farm to ensure a timely, consistent supply of raw material to the factory, within target cost parameters
- Analysing data to determine the best price to charge for our product based on market conditions, production costs, and other factors
- Agricultural Budgeting and Costing (Crops and Livestock) and new projects
- Oversee the agricultural, technical, finance and administrative teams towards meeting financial and operational targets for the business.
- Develop an annual budget for the farming business.
- Work with the finance team to manage the finances of the business in line with the agreed budget
- Develop and execute an appropriate recruiting and team development plan in line with corporate objectives
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations whilst ensuring ongoing and effective management of relationships with all external stakeholders
- Manage key farm-related stakeholder relationships in the best interest of the business
- Collate, analyse and present periodic operational and financial reports to management
- Providing advice and support to all farm managers in the field to help them improve their outputs
- Evaluating the economic impact of new technologies or government policies on the agriculture industry
- Developing and implementing plans to improve farm productivity and efficiency
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in : Agric Economics, Agribusiness , Business Admin , Agric Engineering or any other related courses from a reputable educational institution
- Minimum of 4 years general management experience in a real sector, Agricultural operations management.
- Strong Finance/ Accounting Knowledge
- Strong Analytical Skills using
A background in agriculture, agribusiness management or supply chain management is will give you an edge / advantage
