About the role


To support the Head of Finance and the Country Programme by leading all aspects of financial Management, Reporting, and Compliance for Christian Aid in the base location. The role acts as the focal person for ensuring compliance to Christian Aid and Donor regulations by providing oversight on all financial transactions and ensuring that financial systems and processes designed for the Country Office are adhered to in line with the reporting timelines agreed upon. The role holder will support the Head of Finance to facilitate external and internal audits in the base location and will ensure adherence to all statutory requirements, as it relates to tax authorities and other regulatory bodies within their base location. The role will lead processes such as annual plans, forecasting, cashflow management, payroll management and reporting. The role holder will supervise other finance staff within the base location and ensure that financial data and transactions are processed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner and that sufficient quality check is conducted on all financial transactions before they are entered into the Accounting System. The role holder will have delegated authority to represent the Head of Finance in donor engagements, budget negotiations and other high-level engagements with authorities such as the FIRS, EFCC as the need arises.


About you



  • The successful candidate is expected to have Specialised knowledge of financial management.

  • A Finance/ Accounting Degree (or equivalent) and MUST be a Chartered Accountant. (ICAN, ACCA).

  • S/he must have a proven ability to deal with a wide range of financial procedures and issues.

  • S/he must have a considerable experience in accounting or finance-related environments.

  • A Significant experience in using computerised financial systems is desired.

  • S/he must be conversant with the Reconciliation of financial information, including experience in working with foreign currency.

  • S/he must have at least 5 years' Experience working with (I)NGOs and donor funding.

  • The successful candidate is required to have Advanced skills in using Microsoft office packages, specifically Excel.
