Role Description
- Review, prepare, and supervise the compounding, preparation, and dispensing of medicines to patients or medical professionals to decide whether to utilize a generic version of a prescription drug
- Offer further medicine and pharmaceutical information; explain pharmacological indications, contraindications, dosage, interactions and adverse effects to patients and/or medical professionals
- Oversee the acquisition and distribution of drugs and pharmaceuticals to health centres, PHCs, health stations, etc. Support pharmacological services by assembling, stocking and distributing medications
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews to assess the appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of medications for individual patients. They identify potential medication-related issues, promote adherence strategies, and support patients in managing complex medication regimens
Qualifications
- Candidates for the post must possess the required qualifications, experience and skills specified below:
- Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or PharmD)
- 1-year post NYSC cognate experience
- Member of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) or Nigerian Association of General Practice Pharmacists (NAGPP)
- Not more than 35 years of age
Key Requirements / Attributes:
- Relevant educational background and qualifications in healthcare or related fields
- Knowledge of Civil/Public Service Rules
- Basic skills and use of ICT tools
- Valid and up-to-date licensure or registration with the appropriate regulatory body or council
- Strong verbal & written communication abilities and interpersonal skills Knowledge of primary healthcare delivery and commitment to promoting preventive and community-based healthcare.
