Purpose of the job


The Project Manager (Events) is also known as the Project Manager will be responsible for  developing an in-field strategy for ensuring hitch-free event project execution and maintenance of client relationship on a long-term basis. He/she will coordinate his/her team and vendors in order to  ensure that an event flows smoothly without a hitch until the end so as to meet organizational goals and expectations. He/She will develop event plans for clients and internal stakeholders. This includes project plans,  that outline event execution, resource management, delivery timeline and event programs.  He/She is detailed and insightful and possesses excellent communication and people  management skills. He/She is able to multi-task and guide the teams to execute events within tight  schedules and approved budgets.


He/She may be required to work long and irregular hours depending on the nature and schedules of the events. He/She may travel frequently between the office and event sites to manage events.


Key responsibilities



  1. Conceptualize and plan events working in tandem with a dedicated team, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure adherence to event plans and budget.

  2. Develop event communication plans, budget, and event floor plans with internal stakeholders based on clients' requirements.

  3. Lead discussions with clients to understand event scope and objectives.

  4. Liaise with clients on invoicing and payment matters to ensure timely settlement.

  5. Effectively manage any escalated issues as well as deviations from the project plans.

  6. Manage financial budgets that are aligned with departmental work plans.

  7. Present event proposals to management and clients for approval.

  8. Propose department's financial budgets for management approval.

  9. Recommend measures to improve event management and outcome.

  10. Resolve all project issues and deviations to ensure that projects are executed as planned

  11. Review project deliverables to ensure that project plans are followed

Person specification:



  1. 3+ years experience of successfully executing large corporate and high-profile events.

  2. Experience in managing a diverse workload, with multiple deadlines, stakeholders and deliverables

  3. Experience in developing and delivering new event concepts 

  4. Technical know-how in designing mood boards and floor plans for large-capacity events (1000 to 5,000-capacity venues)


Education and Required Skills



  1. Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Event Management or any other related discipline 

  2. Possess proven experience as an Event Project Manager 

  3. Be computer savvy; showing proficiency in the use of MS Word and PowerPoint 

  4. Effective communication skill in both written and spoken forms

  5. Effective negotiation skills will be of top priority

  6. Possess excellent customer service skills

  7. Ability to use the Internet for e-mail communication will be an added advantage

  8. Excellent organizational skills

  9. Possess remarkable problem-solving skills

  10. Excellent project management skills

  11. Possess outstanding event planning skills

  12. Top-notch logistic skills will be an added advantage
