Job Description



Job Purpose



  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing the accounts of the company to ensure its financial records are correct and in line with the law.

  • He/she would be inspecting the accounts of the company and will also act in an advisory role to recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings of the company.


Responsibilities



  • Collating, checking and analyzing spreadsheet data.

  • Examining company accounts and financial control systems.

  • Gauging levels of financial risk within organizations.

  • Checking that financial reports and records are accurate and reliable.

  • Ensuring that assets are protected.

  • Identifying if and where processes are not working as they should and advising on changes to be made.

  • Preparing reports, commentaries and financial statements.

  • Liaising with managerial staff and presenting findings and recommendations.

  • Ensuring procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and compiled with

  • Undertaking review of wages.


Requirements and Skills



  • A First Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)will be preferred.

  • Proven working experience as an auditor.

  • 3 - 10 years work experience.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Strong IT skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good presentation and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure.

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

  • A strong understanding of the Nigerian financial system and operations.
