Job Description




  • Location: Maiduguri, Borno

  • Employment Type: Service Contract


Purpose


To identify the gaps in a specific sector in the community to guide ALSAR response plan.


Responsibilities



  • Explaining the study procedure to respondent to ensure they understand the process.

  • Attend assessment orientation and data collection training

  • Conduct data collection in selected location (Maiduguri)

  • Inform ALSAR on likely sensitivities that could affect the usage of the survey tools within the target communities.

  • Work collaboratively with ALSAR M&E team to ensure successful implementation of the survey

  • Review filled data collection tools to ensure completion and quality of data

  • Support in the mobilization of community respondent for the survey.


Qualifications



  • A graduate from any secondary school/institution with at least 6 months experience in data collection

  • Must be a resident of Maiduguri

  • Proven skills in the use of mobile device for data collection

  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research

  • Good understanding of the local dialect (Hausa a must, Kanuri is a plus)

  • Possess a degree of flexibility to work and availability to respond to comments and questions in a timely and appropriate manner

  • Strong understanding of English language with ability to write high quality and concise reports


Methodology



  • The studies will use a structured questionnaire

  • The survey will be conducted in communities within Maiduguri, ALSAR will develop the survey tools and carryout the analysis

  • The survey will be conducted orally with the surveyor translating to the respondent language.

  • All data will be collected on an android device and upload to the server on a daily basis.
