Position Overview
- The Sales and Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the company's revenue generation by overseeing all aspects of the Sales & Marketing Department.
- This individual will lead a team of talented sales and marketing professionals, working collaboratively to strengthen the company's brand positioning, enhance customer engagement, and drive sales.
- This position is an Assistant General Manager role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for both strategic planning and tactical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop and refine the overall sales & marketing strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth targets.
- Provide visionary leadership to the sales and marketing team, inspiring and guiding them to achieve exceptional results.
Brand Management:
- Lead efforts to define and maintain a strong brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and visual representation across all touchpoints.
- Develop and oversee brand-building initiatives, including advertising campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Foster brand loyalty and advocacy through effective communication strategies.
Sales and Business Development:
- Lead the sales team in achieving revenue targets and market share growth.
- Explore and develop new customer segments, geographies, and product lines.
- Identify new market opportunities and assess feasibility for expansion.
- Oversee the creation, negotiation, and management of contracts with customers, and distributors.
Digital and Online Marketing:
- Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, and influencer collaborations.
- Drive the optimization of the company's online presence, ensuring the website and other digital platforms reflect our brand values and engage customers effectively.
Product Development, Pricing & Profitability Management:
- Monitor and optimize product pricing to maximize profitability while maintaining customer value.
- Work closely with product development teams to understand and promote product features and benefits, translating technical specifications into compelling marketing messages.
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new product launches, ensuring maximum impact and sales growth.
- Work with the sales team to develop a robust route to market that delivers consistent and sustainable corporate outcomes.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct and analyse in-depth market research to identify market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for market penetration and differentiation.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and continually refine marketing strategies.
Team Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing sales & marketing force, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Review existing sales team organizational structure for optimal positioning and impact.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members through targeted trainings and counselling programmes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, design, and production teams to align marketing efforts with business goals.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to enhance marketing capabilities and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
Budget Management & Financial Analysis:
- Prepare and actively monitor the periodic rolling, annual, and long-term budget, and planning cycles for sales & marketing.
- Manage the marketing budget effectively, allocating resources to optimize ROI on marketing campaigns and activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and financial results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master's degree would be an advantage).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- A basic understanding of the tiles industry or related building materials sector is a plus.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive brand growth and revenue.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to close deals and drive revenue growth.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with an ERP like MS Navision, SAP or SAGE.
