JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep up with local and global trends and events


• Collect, verify and analyze thoroughly newsworthy information


• Assemble findings into a stable story


• Write and deliver news stories with the reader’s perspective in mind


• Publish news stories


• Receive assignments or investigate news leads/tips


• Contact, interview and research sources


• Maintain notes and audio recordings


• Cooperate with reporters, chief editor, and producers


• Stay up-to-date with the latest current News around the world/Nigeria using credible research source, contacts, schedule and interviews


• Researching background material


• Writing and rehearsing script for presenting


• Finalize news content and keep up with deadlines as timeliness is extremely.


• Abide by journalism’s ethics and codes


• And any other duties assigned to you in course of your employment with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Sc degree in journalism or mass communications


• Minium of 2 years working experience as a reporter


• Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases)


• Excellent communication, lobbying, and active listening skills


• Integrity and morality


• Portfolio of published articles or newscasts


• Ability to gather, write and edit news


• Not more than 25 years


• Broad knowledge of headlines
