ROLES AND PURPOSE
The primary objective of the Data Officer is to conduct a thorough audit of all project data to ensure its integrity and consistency.
- Verify the accuracy of data entries and ensure they align with the established data collection protocols.
- Analyzing data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, cross-checking data against source documents and identify any discrepancies or errors, with review for data consistency and follow up for clarification or correction.
- Identifying data quality issues, discrepancies, and inconsistencies, documenting them, and reporting to the project management team.
- Validate data completeness to ensure all relevant information has been captured appropriately and query any incomplete data submission.
- Generate a comprehensive report detailing the findings of the audit, along with recommendations for data quality improvement.
- Review and familiarize self with the project’s targets and deliverables and project's data collection procedures, tools, and databases.
- Conducting regular data validation and verification checks of project data entries.
- Proven experience in data auditing, data analysis, or data quality assurance within the healthcare or development sector.
- Familiarity with TB programs, HIV/AIDs or public health projects is an advantage.
- Proficiency in data management tools, data analysis software, and database systems.
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to write detailed monthly data audit reports, including findings, observations, and recommendations and with presentation of the audit report to the project management team.
- Proficiency using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), especially in Excel is a Must Have.
- Experience using data collecting apps, especially Google forms, Kobo Collect and Google Maps will be taken into consideration.
- Salary is competitive and negotiable but commensurate with experience and educational background.
- At least five years’ experience in basic data management skills.
