Job Purpose
- The Product Manager/Key Account Manager role combines some elements of traditional functional areas: product management, access and key account management.
- The role is responsible for creating the right environment to achieve and maintain access to our portfolio of Oncology and Immunology products treating debilitating disease areas.
- This role is responsible for ensuring market leadership for the prioritized products in the portfolio and will work cross functionally with the Nigerian and Regional Teams and with external stakeholders to optimize the value created with the portfolio.
- The role has line management and budgetary responsibilities and has complete responsibility for the performance of the portfolio in the market.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Pipeline Products:
- Produce and develop an insight driven product plan to deliver a flawless launch of the new product(s)
- Leverage data, customer insights and marketplace trends to understand product performance, customer and patient behavior, review and triage issues, make and implement recommendations for shaping strategy iterations
- Understand the market environment to identify business opportunities within the complex & changing healthcare structures
- Consistently map the stakeholder environment; including a health provider analysis to ensure effective targeting and segmentation of prescribers and other critical customers
- Ensure strategies are tailored to the needs of segmented customers and key customers
- Effectively identity, manage and lead on delivering value through Key Accounts
- Create environments and advocates that will assist in peer to peer sharing of clinical experience within both secondary and primary care settings
- Develop and align brand value propositions with local health economy objectives
- Influence preferential timely formulary decisions and other regional/national networks to establish market access for your product(s)
- Advance notification of product(s) and prices according to local laws
- Establish and manage KOL relationships
- Ensure local adaptation of relevant EMEA generated promotional materials prior to launch
- Expert knowledge of utilizing MR methodologies and measure key strategic insights to shape or re-shape the marketing plan, current and future.
Approved Products (promotional):
- Gather deep customer insights and ensure their needs are fully understood, in alignment with the Customer Strategy Manager – Marketing and the Customer Strategy Manager – Selling, where applicable develop cross portfolio and cross sector integrated value propositions responding to Customer needs
- Effectively sell the value offering of your product(s) to meet the individual needs of all relevant customers within the local health economy
- Become the expert in terms of knowledge and practical application in all aspects of the environment, relevant therapy areas, the company and competitor products
- Account - manage your customers including payers, prescribers and other decision-makers – typically involving clinicians, specialist nurses and pharmacists at all levels
- The position has responsibility for optimally managing allocated spend within a negligible amount and with zero overspend
- The position has Total Sales performance (Net Trade Sales and In Market Sales) responsibility for the defined portfolio and must increase the portfolio’s competitiveness through growing market share, customer value and ensuring an Evolution Index growth that is equal to or higher than the market
- The position has responsibility for accuracy of forecast - difference ≤ 14.0% (monthly). Measured via forecast reports. Metrics: Forecast reports and monthly meetings with materials planner
- This position has responsibility for delivering, in line with business plan, a three-year rolling monthly local demand forecast for major brands.
- The position has responsibility for working with management and the relevant distributor stakeholders to develop the Business Plan, Mid Term Plan, March, June and November Plans and the Long-Range Strategic Plans
- Become the “go-to” account manager for your customers, by creating a superior customer interaction and brand experience in comparison to other industry sales professionals.
Compliance Responsibilities:
- This position has responsibility for ensuring compliance to HCC, HCBI, and SOP requirements
- This position has responsibility for ensuring the reporting of Adverse Events & product quality complaints as per J&J Pharmacovigilance guidelines.
Qualifications
We’d love to hear from YOU, if you have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required. Pharmacy degrees are preferable
- Fluency in English and one other local language
- Proven track record in a field sales role and with a passion for delivering quality healthcare solutions
- Strong key account management / implementation skills
- Creative thinker: a top performer with determination, passion and high levels of motivation
- The ability to handle complex technical information and business challenges
- Excellent team working skills with both sales and cross functional colleagues
- The ability to identify new opportunities and develop solutions to manage competitor activity
- Proven business acumen - strategic thinking and the ability to deliver innovative customer solutions
- Proven ability to develop customers at all levels

- Experience in Oncology and or Immunology TA would be beneficial
