JOB DESCRIPTION

• Welcome patients in a friendly and warm manner.


• Taking vitals for patients and forwarding results to the doctor.


• Providing instant care during medical emergencies like RTA burns.


• Give necessary supervision, care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour and postpartum period.


• Assist and conduct delivery.


• Immediate care of the newborn.


• Preoperative and Postoperative care of patients.


• Bed bathing patients who are bedridden, serving of urinals and bedpan, maintaining input and output chart and treatment of pressure areas.


• Appropriate record keeping of inflow and outflow of patients.


• Carrying out immunization.


• Assist in circulation during surgeries.


• Prepare patients for examination and assist the Doctor during procedures. (MVA, Suturing).


• Decontaminating equipments, instruments and autoclave where necessary.


• Proving necessary guidance on health, maintenance and disease prevention.


• Maintaining reports of patients and monitoring changes in their conditions.


• Maintaining continuity among the nursing team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.


• Maintaining a hygienic and safe working environment.


• Identification of patient care by establishing personal rapport with patients and relatives.


• Taking inventories and making orders for new supplies of materials needed for nursing intervention.
