Our client requires the services of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to handle geotechnical analysis, designs, risk assessments, and reports required to deliver projects on quality, time, and budget.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive site investigations to assess soil properties.
Analyse collected data to determine foundation design and construction requirements.
Design and recommend appropriate foundation systems for railway structures.
Assess slope stability to prevent potential landslides or soil instability.
Design retaining walls and embankments for safe railway construction.
Propose ground improvement techniques to enhance soil bearing capacity.
Evaluate seismic risks and design structures to withstand potential failures.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical design.
Install and oversee monitoring of geotechnical instruments for real-time data collection.
Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and provide recommendations to the project team.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate geotechnical aspects.
Address unforeseen geotechnical challenges during railway construction.
Conduct environmental impact assessments related to geotechnical work.
Ensure health and safety compliance on the construction site, particularly in relation to geotechnical hazards.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an HND, B.Eng or BSc qualification with 5 - 7 years work experience.
