Job Description

• To oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost efficient and of high quality. Maintain positive suppliers’ relations, evaluate supply options and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Assists in identifying organization business needs, compile and source market information, and assist in analyzing markets and assessing risk to inform procurement planning and source decisions.


• Observe business trends and product availability to pay the best price for the Company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.


• Implements strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.


• Maintains purchasing information, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established polices and regulatory guidelines


• Engages with vendors for the purpose of resolving purchasing issues and ensuring purchases are within requirements/regulations.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND, B.Sc or BA Degree with at least 3 years experience.


• Must possesses skills to operate standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software application; planning and managing projects; budgeting and financial management; and developing effective working relationships.


• Strong Negotiation & Persuasion Skills.


• Must possess good knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job including policies, budget management and accounting procedures.


• Ability to communicate with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; flexible to changing conditions; working with multiple projects; dealing with frequent interruptions and changing priorities; and maintaining confidentiality.
