Job Objective and Summary
- Prepares, reviews, updates, and retrieves information on computer systems and accounting packages. Also transfers information that is on paper to computer files.
- Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas
- Book-keeping and Data Entry
- Gathering invoices, statements, reports, personal details, documents and information from employees, other departments and clients.
- Compiles, verifies accuracy and sorts information according to book-keeping and accounting principles to prepare source data for computer entry
- Finalises and obtains appropriate approval for Data to be entered into accounting package
- Enters data into computer system and accounting package and checks to ensure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted in line with book-keeping and accounting principles
- Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents
- Creating data backups as part of a contingency plan to ensure business continuity at all times
- Responds to information requests from authorised members of the team
- Generates reports, stores completed work as appropriate
- Suggests and implements process improvements to enhance data entry efficiency and accuracy.
- Keeps information confidential
