Job Description
Job Purpose
- To provide electrical engineering expertise to ensure a safe working environment for our clients occupants within their premises.
- Provide electrical advice to resolve any work related issues relating to the execution of reactive, planned preventative and minor works.
- To ensure that all electrical systems are working at their optimal capacity.
Job Responsibilities
Site Awareness:
- Familiarise yourself with the critical infrastructure systems including, high and low voltage network, fire alarm, generators, UPS, lighting and access control systems etc.
- Establish to an educated level the layout of all electrical and mechanical plant rooms and secondary distribution points.
- Develop a clear understanding of the design and operating principal of all electrical and related building services plant and equipment.
Workload Planning:
- Develop a clear understanding of the company Engineering procedures and processes.
- Assist with weekly workload planning schedules with your team supervisor which will include proactive tasks
Operations:
- Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly and yearly electrical systems maintenance tasks in line with the planned preventative maintenance schedule.
- Respond in a professional and appropriate manner to all electrical and associated system reactive work projects i.e. fault finding and rectification projects.
- Implement as requested modifications to the electrical systems.
- Report to your supervisor on a regular basis regarding workload, quality of workmanship and key issues or challenges.
- Develop an extensive understanding of the methods of work associated with the building services plant & equipment and give advice on enhancing the performance of any equipment.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in line with company HSE policies.
Customer Relations:
- Implement the company’s customer service policy to ensure excellent customer service.
- Take ownership and responsibility to rectify all electrical services and associated works to a level that meets the company’s expectation and maintenance philosophy.
- Communicate in a professional and timely manner in all dealings with the public, client and internally with the company’s management and help desk etc.
Job Requirements
Qualification:
- Appropriate Electrical qualification.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years post qualification experience within the maintenance services market sector preferably in a commercial or large residential environment demonstrating: sound knowledge of electrical systems, workload planning, customer service satisfaction and quality workmanship
Core Competencies:
- Minimum requirement is to understand and have the ability to communicate in English
- Technical expertise in addition to experience in planning of work load.
- Ownership and dedication to the goals of the maintenance team
- Communication / interpersonal skills and customer relationship building skills
