Overview of the Position



  • ofi Dairy has a large backward integration setup in Northern Nigeria, through partnerships with local co-operative bodies.

  • We setup and run milk collection centers and associated cold-chain infrastructure that enables us to offtake fresh milk from Dairy farmers in the region, thereby helping them to realize better value for their product.

  • We also run various capacity building initiatives for our farmer-partners that aim to reduce the demand-supply gap for raw milk in Nigeria. We are looking for a resource that can help us manage and expand this setup.


Responsibilities



  • Day-to-day operational management of the Milk Collection Centers (MCCs) and ensuring collection targets are met for each MCC.

  • Manage the cold chain distribution network.

  • Manage sales and customer relationships for raw milk collected.

  • Manage relationship with the local co-operative bodies and the farmers.

  • Liaisoning with various statutory bodies, regulators and government organizations involved in the value chain.

  • Design and implement various capacity building activities and sustainability programmers for the farmers.

  • Liaisoning with our media partners and effectively managing public relations.


Skills and Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Dairy Science, Animal Science, Agriculture or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of the dairy industry, including knowledge of dairy farming practices, milk production processes, milk collection and transportation systems.

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and quality standards.

  • Proficiency in supply chain management principles.

  • Strong project management skills, including resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of Hausa/Fulani language is essential.
