Summary
The portfolio managers will be responsible for managing the Company’s portfolio for each solid mineral (Coal, Iron-ore, Tin, Lead, Colombite). This role involves sourcing for off-takers, and suppliers, assessing risk, monitoring performance and making informed decisions to maximize the Company’s returns and value from its trading operations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and monitor the different processes in trading of the minerals (sourcing, site inspection, sorting, logistics, sales).
- Give lead on sourcing of materials, suppliers and off-takers.
- Provide advice and guidance for trading opportunities to customers and the Company.
- Identify and access financial, operational and market risks associated with the trading of the resources and develop risk mitigation processes per time.
- Create reports on portfolio performance and activity.
- Conduct regular inspections of site, equipment, processes and materials to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Provide client consultation to develop portfolio objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with off-takers, suppliers and other stakeholders in the industry.
- Determine the optimal allocation of resources and manpower among different projects to optimize returns and manage risk effectively.
Requirement
- First Degree in Geology, Mining engineering or related discipline
- 3-4 years experience in Portfolio management, quality control or a related role in the mining industry
- Relevant professional certifications such as COMEG
- Strong knowledge of trading operations and market dynamics in the mining industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
