Job Description



The Role



  • The credit risk officer is responsible for providing support to the organization with particular emphasis on reducing risk by managing defaults and related activities which will including the credit worthiness of the clients and negotiate repayment of outstanding and future debt.


Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Analysing agents/ customers records and using the data to recommend payment plans

  • Minimize loss resulting from non-payment of loan instalments

  • Contribute to the achievement of the team and organizational objectives

  • Maintain statistics on recoveries and agent performance

  • Ensure that terms and conditions of loan facilities are complied with i.e. prompt repayment.

  • To provide feedback on collections activities for policy changes

  • Demand payments when right party contact is achieved and prevent worsening of collections cases/ flow to higher delinquency buckets

  • Proper documentation and capturing of accurate information on all contacts made

  • Escalate cases that require resolution/ suspected fraud cases to the relevant personnel for investigation


Key Performance Indicators



  • Reduce risk

  • Increase cash flow from all outstanding debt

  • Accurately record all activities for future follow up which will include updating of client information

  • Escalate any inaccuracies in payments made or faults with the system or process


Skills requires



  • Previous Collections/ Debt recovery experience will be beneficial

  • Fully skilled with the Google suite of products

  • Fully skilled with the Microsoft suite of products

  • Good communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Self Motivated and can work unsupervised


Qualification



  • BSc/HND in management or other related discipline
