Job Purpose



  • The role oversees the design, planning, and implementation of all human resources programmes for the Plant.

  • Additionally, the role will ensure proper administration of corporate policies concerning compensation, benefits, employee and industrial relations, health and safety, learning and development programmes.


Responsibilities



  • Coordinate the manpower planning needs of the plant, particularly at the junior and supervisory levels.

  • Organise staff recruitment, selection, appointment, induction, placement, performance management, and advancement at junior and supervisory levels.

  • Organise and supervise corporate affairs activities of the plant which include security, staff transportation, reception and public relations.

  • Prepare monthly workforce statistics information on standard formats and circulate to the Management Committee and Head Office.

  • Supervise the administration of staff benefit schemes including employee compensation, Personal Accidents, Death, End-of-Service benefits and productivity incentives.    

  • Ensure that welfare services provided are functioning and are as specified by the company and labour laws.

  • Draws up the yearly Labour Budget for the Plant and departmental Capital Expenditure Budget.

  • Oversee proper management of the immigration interests of the company and passages.

  • Undertake salaries/wages administration for junior and supervisory staff including remuneration surveys in order to determine competitiveness and advise Management.

  • Handle employee and labour relations matters including dealing with the staff Unions, representing the company at the Employers Federation and Manufacturers Association of Nigeria

  • Coordinate the company’s training, safety and environmental activities especially housekeeping.

  • Ensure that the company’s staff residences are properly maintained including the Guest House, utilities are adequately provided, and bills settled.

  • Ensure that the company’s vehicles are properly maintained and allocated to use, including supervision of transport staff.

  • Ensure that the company’s legal interests are properly defended and represented through the appointed Lawyers.

  • Train, develop and motivate subordinate staff for optimum performance.

  • Has responsibility for endorsements on relevant materials receipts, vouchers and approves fuel coupons, Internal Requisition Vouchers, requisitions for meal tickets and departmental purchase requisitions.

  • Handle staff matters including discipline, counseling, attendance and advise the Plant Manager on staff advances.

  • Supervise the administration of statutory social schemes.


Qualifications & Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration or Social Sciences.

  • Master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations or MBA are added advantages

  • CIPM certification is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in Manufacturing Environment

  • Analytical thinking

  • Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to work for long periods of time, under pressure, and to produce results.
