DUTIES:

• Cover and document Institute events and stories for Radio IITA, including live reports.


• Schedule and conduct news interviews.


• Create and develop news stories.


• Establish and maintain news contacts.


• Write, edit, submit a copy and attend news events.


• Proofread and verify statements and facts.


• Edit, field record, and produce radio, web, and broadcast news reports.


• Maintain news department files, including a digital archive of news stories broadcast.


• Write and deliver news stories from the reader's perspective.


• Publish or broadcast news stories.


• Abide by journalism's ethics and codes.


• Maintain notes and audio recordings.


• Cooperate with reporters, chief editor, producers etc.


• Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisors.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

• BSc/HND in Mass communication, Communication and Language Arts or any other related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must:

• Have good research skills.


• Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).


• Have good knowledge of journalism, digital literacy and audio production.).


• Be logical in reasoning and be objective.
