Job Description
The ideal candidate for this role must be familiar with baking and catering best practices as well as suggest viable product ideas.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of high-quality bread, pastries, and cakes following established recipes and production schedules.
- Monitor oven temperatures, adjust baking times, and ensure consistent quality of baked products.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the baking area and manage ingredient inventory.
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as commercial ovens, deep-fat fryers and rotisserie ovens.
- Collaborate with the team to create new recipes and meet customer demands.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and assist in training new baking staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of a First degree in any relevant field
- Relevant culinary or baking qualifications are a plus
- 2-5 years of proven experience as a baker with knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and a team player mindset.
- Creativity and willingness to experiment with new flavors.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
