  • Our client is seeking an Accountant with expertise in Corporate and VAT Taxes to join our client’s team.

  • The accountant will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our client’s tax obligations while also responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, minimizing tax burden, and contributing to their financial stability.

  • The appropriate candidate's expertise will be crucial in helping our client maintain a competitive edge in the telecommunications industry.


Key Responsibilities & Duties



  • Corporate Tax Management: Prepare and file corporate tax returns accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • VAT Tax Expertise: Handle VAT tax matters efficiently, including preparation, filing, and reconciliation of VAT returns.

  • Tax Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while remaining in full compliance with tax laws.

  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to management.

  • Audit Support: Prepare and provide necessary documentation for tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as needed.

  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company's adherence to all relevant requirements.

  • Telecom Accounting: Prepare other telecom-specific accounting functions, such as revenue recognition, cost allocation, and depreciation of telecom assets.

  • Other Duties: Perform any other duties or projects as assigned by the Finance Director or senior management, which may include financial reporting, budgeting, or analysis of financial performance.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN) is highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate and VAT tax accounting

  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations and Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
