Role Overview:



  • As our Sales Director, you will be at the forefront of driving growth in the challenging but rewarding African education market.

  • You will lead a talented sales team of 25 professionals across 5 countries to achieve a minimum of $1.5 million in SaaS subscription sales to African private and public schools within the next 12 months.


Responsibilities:



  • Drive a $1.5m net subscription target

  • Own the roadmap/initiatives for organic growth, conversion, and monetization

  • Lead Business Development & Sales, along with all cross-functional teams, to accelerate our growth

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet and exceed revenue targets.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve their individual and collective goals.

  • Identify and penetrate new markets, segments, and customer opportunities.

  • Position Edves as a leader in the EdTech industry and communicate its value in addressing the global Learning Crisis.

  • Navigate complex economic factors, including FX fluctuations and currency devaluation, to ensure sustainable growth.


Requirements:



  • Proven experience in leading successful sales teams, preferably in the EdTech or education sector.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Passion for technology-driven solutions and their impact on education.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

  • 7+ years working as a sales leader in B2B Software companies, ideally on the marketplace or aggregator products

  • Provable ability in substantially optimizing user acquisition channels, conversion funnels, and monetization

  • A knack for identifying initiatives that drive growth

  • Results-oriented approach, with a focus on getting results

  • Proven track record in building teams, while improving efficiency and culture

  • Confidence in leading with experience & and intuition but validated through data-informed experimentation and user research

  • Experience collaborating with research, design, engineering, AI, and analytics to drive growth initiatives

  • At least a bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant field.

  • SEO and High-impact tools experience

  • Passion for evolving education to help educators, parents, and students in Africa

  • Experience with user-generated content and curriculum-led initiatives
