The product / interior designer will be responsible for designing and shaping the user experience and user interface of our products.
They will plan and create aesthetically pleasing and functional products and spaces. They will work with budgets to create and understand their design preferences, budgets constraints and requirements to transform spaces into visually appealing and practical environments.
Responsibilities
Create and translate designs, concepts, and sketches into accurate drawings.
Conduct research to gain understanding of user needs, behaviors and pain points and translate them into design solutions that address user problems.
Conduct meetings with clients to discuss their needs and style preferences.
Coordinate with contractors and trades people
Oversee costing budget and putting together project estimates
Choosing design features such as furnishing, materials and artwork
Collaborate with architects, engineers, etc to further understand how an interior space should function, appear or be furnished
Develop product designs from scratch
Ensure product designs meet required safety and structural standards
Blend technique and aesthetics to create final designs
Generate solid and surface CAD models using AutoCAD software
Preparing concept presentations
Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques and other developments in the industry
Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
B.Sc / HND in Design/ Architecture or related field.
Competencies Required:
2-4 years CAD /Product/Interior Designing or related field.
Detail oriented with excellent problem solving and organizational skills
Proficient in MS Office suite or related software
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
Proven experience as an Interior Designer with strong portfolio of completed projects.
Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of industry-specific standards and codes.
Must be able to distinguish colors.
Basic understanding of building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors.
