Description
The accountant & administrative supervisor maintains and compiles financial reports and statements in compliance with government regulations and requirements. He or she may analyze balance sheets, manage general ledger accounts, update financial statements, maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable, pay monthly payroll, and prepare financial reports. He or She liaises with the external Accountants, Auditors & Tax Consultants to ensure that company financial records and reports are up-to-date and follow government regulations. He/ She also manages the administrative activities of the business ensuring that stock records are effectively managed and maintained.
Responsibilities
- To maintain basic financial records for the entire company i.e., keeping Profit & Loss records, Tax records, preparing invoices etc.
- Manage the implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
- Manage General Ledger, including timely and accurate monthly closings, the review of account balances, and the reconciliation of accounts
- Process transactions related to accounts payable and account receivable, payroll, fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization, and maintain records related to those.
- Liaise with external Accountants, Auditors, and Tax Consultants to ensure that company financial records and reports are up to date and follow government regulations
- Perform general office administrative duties to support an efficient business operation
- Manage the annual external audit, acting as primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring all necessary reconciliations are prepared upon arrival of the auditors, and providing needed schedules and documents for audit and tax return purposes
Competency/Skill/Requirements
- B. Sc. Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting
- Proven experience in a similar position
- At least 2 years of work experience in related field Proficiency in the use of SAGE ONE, and Microsoft Office with specifics on Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Experience in staff supervision
- Most importantly, the ability to do the job.
