• Salary Range ₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month
  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures strict adherence to the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the broiler farm in order to achieve set targets for the farm.


• Oversees the supply feeds to the houses.


• Ensures the welfare of poultry by assessing the quality of feeds and care offered, including vaccinations.


• Ensures compliance with relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including biosecurity and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) measures to prevent the entry and transmission of pathogens in the farms.


• Monitors the performance of broiler production and ensure appropriate records of same are maintained and reported.


• Recognizes and responds in a timely manner to poultry health (including diseases) and production related issues.  


• Plans and oversees preparation and stocking procedures pertaining to poultry production.


• Ensures proper working environment and maintenance of physical infrastructure of the broiler farm.


• Ensures high quality, cost-effective and value-added feed products are provided.


• Translates the broilers development strategy into actionable annual plans and drive implementation.


• Supports the ESG in conducting periodic assessments of risks associated with operations in the broiler farm in order to design mitigating controls.


• Responsible for preparing the annual budget of for the broiler farm.


• Communicates sourcing plan of broiler farm inputs, including day-old chicks, feeds, etc. to procurement team for execution.


• Manages and motivates the team members.


• Observes and evaluates performance of workers to ensure achievement sectional targets.


• Provides periodic (daily, weekly etc) reports depending on production figures, inputs utilization figures, mortality and any other required measurable metrics in broiler farm.


• And any other duty as may be assigned.

PROFILE

• A Bachelor’s degree in animal science or related fields.


• Must be a certified veterinarian


• 7+ years relevant experience.


• A member of a recognized professional body


• Must possess Leadership skills.


• Strong knowledge of poultry farming best practices.


• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
