Manage and Monitor Branch Staff:
- Set short- and medium-term goals and action plans according to any known strategic business plans and changes in work patterns.
- Complete annual performance appraisal according to departmental and Training Department needs.
- Assist with counselling, grievance and/or disciplinary procedures as required according to relevant HR policies and procedures and departmental house rules.
- Plan and approve leave allocation, allocation of time off, duty rosters, training, accreditation, safety officer appointment and arrange for relief staff when required.
- Ensure all staff has access to PPE and that all staff comply and wear PPE at all times when they are performing their duties.
Perform Operational Management Tasks:
- Identify and solve operational problems such as: TAT, Quality problems, breach in discipline, noncompliance with policies and procedures and negligence or transcription errors when needed according to relevant work instruction / SOP.
- Check that management reports (Outstanding specimens’ reports, TAT) are attended to timeously by obtaining daily feedback from senior staff.
- Arrange and conduct staff meetings monthly.
- Ensure all equipment for radiology and pathology gets preventative maintenance and calibrations according to the QAD schedule and all assets such as A/C and generators, etc maintained according to the Facilities schedule. If there is any delay this needs to be escalated to the CEO.
Generate Management Report:
- Collation of referrals and printing of bills for credit insurance
- Weekly operations report for COO
- Monthly Health and safety check list
- Monthly compliance audit report
Financial Management:
- Verify all staff duty claims and allowances monthly according to relevant work instruction/SOP.
- Monitor the materials management of the department according to days-on-hand and other relevant Materials Management reports.
- Compile a budget monthly according to departmental requirements and send through to CFO for approval.
Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Science or similar field
- Minimum of 5 years in similar job role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Observes confidentiality both with patient information and co-workers.
- Attention to detail and Time management.
