Our client, a major Pharmaceutical company with several branches in Abuja seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to join the team. As an accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the pharmacy.
- Record and classify financial transactions, including purchases, sales, and expenses.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with pharmacy management to develop and monitor budgets.
- Assist in financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting practices that may impact pharmacy operations.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Reconcile invoices and receipts, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance.
Taxation:
- Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with local regulations.
- Work with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to track and manage inventory.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
Reporting:
- Generate regular financial reports for management review.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in pharmacy accounting or a similar healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
