Job Overview:


Our client, a major Pharmaceutical company with several branches in Abuja seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to join the team.  As an accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical operations.


Responsibilities:


Financial Record Keeping:



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the pharmacy.

  • Record and classify financial transactions, including purchases, sales, and expenses.


Budgeting and Forecasting:



  • Collaborate with pharmacy management to develop and monitor budgets.

  • Assist in financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making.


Compliance:



  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

  • Stay informed about changes in accounting practices that may impact pharmacy operations.


Accounts Payable and Receivable:



  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.

  • Reconcile invoices and receipts, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.


Financial Analysis:



  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance.


Taxation:



  • Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with local regulations.

  • Work with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.


Inventory Management:



  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to track and manage inventory.

  • Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy.


Reporting:



  • Generate regular financial reports for management review.

  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in pharmacy accounting or a similar healthcare setting is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
