Purpose of the job;
The Project Manager (Events) is also known as the Project Manager will be responsible for developing in-field strategy for ensuring hitch-free event project execution and maintenance of client relationship on long term basis. He/she will coordinate his/her team and vendors in order to ensure that an event flows smoothly without a hitch until the end so as to meet organizational goals and expectations. He/She will develop event plans for clients and internal stakeholders. This includes project plans, that outline event execution, resource management, delivery timeline and event programmes. He/She is detailed and insightful, and possesses excellent communication and people management skills. He/She is able to multi-task and guide the teams to execute events within tight schedules and approved budgets. He/She may be required to work long and irregular hours depending on the nature and schedules of the events. He/She may travel frequently between the office and event sites to manage events.
Key responsibilities;
- Conceptualize and plan event working in tandem with a dedicated team, collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure adherence to event plans and budget.
- Develop event communication plans, budget, event floor plans with internal stakeholders based on clients' requirements.
- Lead discussion with clients to understand event scope and objectives.
- Liaise with clients on invoicing and payment matters to ensure timely settlement.
- Effectively manage any escalated issues as well as deviations from the project plans.
- Manage financial budgets that are aligned with departmental work plans.
- Present event proposals to management and clients for approval.
- Propose department's financial budgets for management approval.
- Recommend measures to improve event management and outcome.
- Resolve all project issues and deviations to ensure that projects are executed as planned.
- Review project deliverables to ensure that project plans are followed.

Person specification:
- 3+ years experience of successfully executing large corporate and high profile events.
- Experience in managing a diverse workload, with multiple deadlines, stakeholders and deliverables
- Experience in developing and delivering new event concepts
- Technical know how in designing mood boards and floor plans for large capacity events (1000 to 5,000 capacity venues)
Education and Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in Project Management, Event Management or any other related discipline
- Possess proven experience as an Event Project Manager
- Be computer savvy; showing proficiency in the use of MS Word and PowerPoint
- Effective communication skill in both written and spoken forms
- Effective negotiation skills will be of top priority
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Top-notch logistic skills will be an added advantage
