Job Summary:
A Zonal Manager shall develop and implement effective and winning marketing strategies for the zone, within the overall corporate strategy. Effectively coordinate the activities and manage the resources of the zone for peak performance and maximum profitability, in line with regulatory framework.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all areas operations in the zone, to ensure market growth, market dominance and profitability.
- Advise management on winning strategies for the bank’s products and services in the zone.
- Oversee the implementation of the company’s strategies and business plan for peak performance.
- Verify that all Zonal Team members and Area Managers diligently and constantly carry out their ORSA control checks.
- Undertake the performance analysis and monitoring of areas within the zone relative to set targets on critical key performance indicators.
- Explore and carries out the opening of new strategic and profitable branches in the zone.
- Visit areas/branches that are facing challenges and ensures prompt and effectively resolution of the issues.
- Ensure the effective and judicious management of the human and material resources of all branches in the zone.
- Regularly check and ensure risk mitigation strategy are in place and ensure compliance/integrity with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure effective human resource management of zonal staff in respect of recruitment, performance appraisal, training, industrial peace and general staff motivation.
- Appraise subordinates promptly and objectively, and follows up on feedback from the appraisal.
- Take responsibility for the training, coaching and mentoring of subordinates.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Management.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in a business-related discipline. An MBA, CIBN-MCIB and/or other relevant postgraduate or professional qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience, at least 2 of which should have been at the Middle or Senior management level.
- Good knowledge of economic and market environment, including global trends.
- Good managerial & leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of banking operations.
