Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting from a reputable university with Second Class Upper honors.

  • ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) Professional Stage qualification.

  • Minimum of 7 years of post-NYSC experience in a corporate environment.

  • Hands-on experience in foreign procurements.

  • Proficiency in working with inventory management software.

  • Strong background in forecasting strategies.

  • Must own a laptop and be web 2.0 and digitally savvy.


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:



  • Excellent background knowledge in bookkeeping, general ledger (GL) management, costing, taxation, and corporate finance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Responsibilities:


Financial Record Keeping:




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.




Financial Analysis:




  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.




Month-end Close:




  • Assist in the monthly and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.




Budgeting and Forecasting:




  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and forecasts, and monitor performance against these financial plans.




Tax Compliance:




  • Prepare and file various tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.




Audit Support:




  • Assist in the coordination of external audits, including gathering necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.




Delivery Agents and Client Relations:



  • Manage Delivery Agents invoices, process payments, and address Delivery Agents inquiries.

  • Provide outstanding customer service to clients regarding billing and payment inquiries.


Process Improvement:




  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance financial reporting.




Compliance:



  • Stay up-to-date with accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company's financial practices remain in compliance.

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.

  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.

  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.

  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers.

  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns.

  • Support month-end and year-end close process.

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

  • Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
