Role Description



  • The SME Loan Officer will be responsible for analyzing loan applications, preparing loan agreements, assisting loan applicants with the application process, and managing loan disbursements and collections.

  • This is a full-time on-site role and the successful candidate will be located in Ikeja.

  • The SME Loan Officer will engage with small and medium-sized enterprise customers to assist them with their loan applications, answer any questions they might have, and provide financial guidance and advice. Loan Officer would be responsible for processing large loans within the banks limits to prospect individual and corporate clients.


Main Responsibilities



  • Source for new individual and corporate clients via direct promotion and assist prospect client with loan application.

  • Presentation of loan proposals to credit committee.

  • Portfolio Management with full responsibility for its growth and quality (monitoring of disbursed Loans, follow up on timely repayment and Initiating and leading recovery activities).

  • Optimizing financial results by cross-selling activities.

  • Assuring long-term relationships (Relationship Management) through high client satisfaction, reaching a high ratio of revolving clients.

  • In-depth assessment of loan applications and collection of detailed information (personal, business, and guarantees) in preparation of loan proposals.

  • Analyse and interpret the financial statements of businesses with the use of Microsoft Excel to access the repayment capacity and financial soundness of the borrower


Requirements



  • Minimum of B.Sc./ HND in any discipline

  • 3–7 years SME lending, experience in a commercial bank or Microfinance Bank is most preferred

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Target-driven and result oriented.

  • Attentive to details.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others

  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel and Word

  • A strong understanding of small and medium-sized enterprises and their financial needs

  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations governing microfinance banks in Nigeria

  • Ability to provide professional services to HIGH NET WORTH CLIENTS

  • Demonstrate good self-esteem and confidence.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills (with focus on cash flow analysis and forecasting)

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
